Why Do We Map an Account Owner?

An account owner is the team member who is responsible for the Play and must be a user that exists in the UserIQ application.  The account owner that comes into UserIQ from the client system must be mapped to an actual user in UserIQ so the Play can be managed by an actual user in the application.  Many clients send the account owner in their tracking snippet, integration or via the API.  These values are simply attributes at the account level until such time as they are tied to an actual user within the system via the mapping process.

How to Map an Account Owner

Create an account owner mapping by clicking on your avatar and choosing site settings.  On the left menu bar, choose the Account Owner Mapping option.

In the event that the Account Owner does not exist in UserIQ, the default account owner is the person who the play will be assigned to.  The default account owner must be an actual user in UserIQ.

The Account Owner From Source column represents the Account Owners that are being sent to UserIQ via the tracking snippet, API or integrations.  These need to be mapped to an actual user that has a login and is set up in UserIQ.  To map you simply start typing the username in the right hand column. If you do not see the user you need, provided you are an account admin, you can create the user using the create user link as shown in the screenshot below.
