Have you heard the news? We’re going on the road! We’re kicking off the first leg of the User Adoption Expedition right here in Atlanta. We’re excited to see everyone and take this conversation around user adoption on the road, but you’ve probably got a few questions. So we wanted to take some time to give you a sneak peek at everything you can expect from the first stop on the User Adoption Expedition.

This won’t be your standard roadshow. We’re taking the Atlanta camp to West Midtown to 5 Seasons Brewing. Come grab a few brews on us and take a few lessons back to your team.

We will also have a panel discussion on the fundamentals of user adoption and how to align customer success, product management, and sales teams to ensure your users experience a seamless transition from buyer to customer.

What is the User Adoption Expedition?

We’ve been talking about all things user adoption for some time now. We’ve defined exactly what user adoption is, why everyone in your organization should care about it, who the key players are, and more. Our CEO Rachel Orston also gave a great presentation on it at SaaStr 2018. But in order to equip you with the tools you need to  build a strong user adoption program at your organization, we want to help you facilitate the conversation around it and that’s where the User Adoption Expedition comes in.

The truth is, adoption is a frequently overlooked step in the customer journey, but it’s significantly harder to reach stages like retention and advocacy without it. That’s why the Atlanta Camp will include a panel discussion about common hurdles that SaaS businesses face when it comes to onboarding and adoption and share real-world examples and proven tactics to build a user adoption strategy that can be implemented as a company-wide effort.

In addition to fun, food, drinks and networking with all the best Atlanta SaaS companies, our expedition guides will give you their take on the latest trends around customer onboarding and how they achieve their goals around adoption with their day-to-day tactics.

 Moderator – UserIQ CEO Rachel Orston

Rachel Orston, CEO of UserIQ, is a customer success pioneer with deep experience launching and marketing new products for some of the world’s most recognizable technology brands including Microsoft, Sony and IBM. Her experience includes driving customer success and SaaS growth across IBM’s global SaaS portfolio. Today, Rachel leads UserIQ in helping companies foster growth and deepen customer engagement.

Bryan BrownChief Product Officer at Terminus

Bryan Brown is the Chief Product Officer at Terminus, where he leads the product and engineering teams for the Terminus account-based marketing platform. Before becoming a Terminator, Bryan served as vice president of product strategy at Silverpop during its acquisition and transformation into IBM Marketing Cloud.

He was also the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Vtrenz, an early pioneer in B2B marketing automation software, acquired by Silverpop in 2007.

Amber Haack – VP of Customer Success at Springbot

Amber Haack is the Vice President of Customer Success at Springbot – a company that champions small and medium size businesses focused on ecommerce, marketing and technology – where she’s passionate about growing customers into fans and delivering outcomes that exceed expectations.

Before joining Springbot, Amber worked in corporate communications, marketing, sales and project management at Unisource Worldwide, Inc. Amber enjoys traveling, spending time with her dog Lucky, reading books and trying new things (at least once). As a Wisconsin native, she is also a Badger and Packer enthusiast!

Liz Pastor – Director of Support Operations at Mailchimp

Liz Pastor is the Director of Support Operations at MailChimp where she leads the teams that bridge the gap between product and support. She is responsible for creating a great customer support experience and partnering with product management, research, and marketing to make MailChimp’s products even better through customer feedback.

Liz joined MailChimp with 16 years of experience in product innovation, product management, and marketing having spent 13 of those years at CareerBuilder leading ecommerce and product teams. Liz has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Arizona State and her MBA from DePaul University. She lives in Chamblee, GA, with her husband, daughter, and spoiled miniature schnauzer.


David ThomsonChief Revenue Officer at List Partners LLC

As Chief Revenue Officer, David oversees revenue operations and strategy for List Partners LLC in the U.S. and globally. Having worked within high growth SaaS companies for over a decade, David brings his expertise in building and growing successful, results-driven teams. Prior to joining List Partners LLC, David had multiple sales roles within, the world’s largest contract manufacturing marketplace.

David is also an active Board Member of Second Wind Dreams, an international nonprofit dedicated to helping those with dementia and their loved ones. David grew up in Atlanta and moved back after receiving his B.B.A. from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.. When away from work, he enjoys golf and spending time with his wife, Jeni, and their daughter, Madison.
